ZEON CHEMICALS REINFORCES LEADERSHIP POSITION WITH ZETPOL® HNBR ELASTOMERS May 26, 2004
Zeon Chemicals continues to produce the world’s leading hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) technology for timing belts and several other demanding automotive applications. Offering the broadest range of HNBR elastomers, Zeon is the only supplier to offer both solid HNBR and HNBR latex that are ideally suited for heat resistant bonding to a wide range of reinforcing materials.
Zeon has been a pioneer in the industry for over a decade with Zetpol HNBR elastomers tested in belts for over 175,000 miles. Zeon’s standard range of elastomers can be formulated to withstand temperatures from -40°C to 150°C.
Recently, Zeon developed specialty elastomers and advanced compounding techniques that have pushed the temperature limits to 175°C, while maintaining outstanding low temperature flexibility.
Zeon’s line of HNBR elastomers includes the reinforced Zetpol Super Composite (ZSC) family of HNBR’s specifically designed for outstanding tensile, tear, abrasion and high elongation at high hardness. These elastomers offer excellent physical strength and dynamic performance for timing and accessory drive belts.
